Enza Civils constructs high quality roads using appropriate technologies and resources. Enza Civils’ extensive experience includes the construction and rehabilitation of rural and urban freeways; gravel roads; local access roads, and more. Through a joint venture with Roadmac Surfacing, a division of Listed Construction Group Raubex, Enza Civils has conducted periodic maintenance on a 25-kilometre stretch of the National Route 12, Section 9, running from Voetpaddrift to Kimberley. Similarly, Enza Civils undertook periodic maintenance on a 26-kilometre stretch of the National Route 12 Section 10, from Riverton to Windsorton, and a further 25 kilometres between Riverton and Kimberley. In partnership with Raubex, Enza Civils is involved in upgrading an interchange along the National Route 4, and constructing the second carriageway of the N4, between Garankuwa and Brits.

The Rea Vaya Bus Rapid Transport System is an important development for South Africa’s public transport system and Enza Civils is directly involved in the construction of the Alexandra Bus Depot (Phase 1). As part of this 8-month project, Enza Civils is in the process of constructing parking bays, a fueling facility, and temporary offices for the Rea Vaya Bus Transport System in Alexandra. The Wedge Shopping Centre in Rivonia recently underwent an intensive renovation process, that saw Enza Civils working to improve the infrastructure, expand its parking facilities, and construct new access roads. Enza Civils is also involved in the high-profile Middelburg District Hospital project, which sees the company providing bulk earthworks and the installation of services to this important government project.

Civils Team: Enza Civils is managed by a dynamic team of go getters with extensive experience in the construction industry and a passion to build. Here’s a quick introduction to the management team of Enza Civils.


Coen joined Enza in 2016 to head up the recently established Civils division. He has over 20 years of experience in the construction industry having worked at listed construction companies, Grinaker-LTA, Group Five and Sanyati; he brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge. In addition to Coen's roads experience for clients such as N3TC and Sanral, he has successfully completed roads projects for the Swaziland Government. His extensive knowledge of runway rehabilitation has enabled him to lead and execute bids at King Shaka, OR Tambo and the Hosea Kutako airport in Namibia. His recent responsibilities at Group Five included heading up Cosmos Asphalt and the rehabilitation of mine dumps for Samancor.


Riaz has over 20 years of experience in the construction industry having started his career as a Civil Engineering bursary student with Murray and Roberts Gillis-Mason. He has since worked in senior roles for Aveng Grinaker-Lta, Rand Roads, Group Five Projects and Group Five Civil Engineering. Some of the major projects that he has worked on are Medupi, Kusile, N3 and N4 Concessions, Cape Town and OR Tambo International Airports, Ingwe Mine and Impala Platinum Mine. Riaz has experience in asphalt manufacture and paving, chip and spray, roads and earthworks, concrete repairs and civil engineering structures.


Kobus started his career at the department of Agriculture in 1998 doing designs and detailed drawings for civil projects that encompassed drainage, water reticulation, earthdams and gabion structures. From 2004 onwards he worked for small construction companies including Sanyati where he gained extensive experience in Infrastructure development. Kobus’ projects include: the Gautrain, Soccer City and Medupi. He also works on a variety of housing estate development projects. Kobus has a National Diploma in Civil (Agricultural) Engineering from Pretoria Technicon.
